FIRE. Female Inventors & Rising Entrepreneurs
From the founder

The ecosystem I wished existed. It does now.

FIRE is a curated membership for female inventors and entrepreneurs. I started it because I needed this trusted ecosystem when I was building my businesses and nothing like it existed.

Why I started FIRE

A personal letter from Joelle.

I’m a multi-sector Founder with 4 exits. Most recently, I built a (12x patented) product company before I built FIRE. I grew it from an idea into a nationally recognized brand, landed a deal on Shark Tank® and ultimately walked away with a successful seven-figure exit. So, I know what it feels like to stare at a spreadsheet at one in the morning, wondering if a single purchase order could sink you. To feel alone building. To not know who to call. To email a hundred factories and hear back from four. To get denied capital just to grow. To walk into a room and realize nobody else there is carrying what you’re carrying.

Along the way, I pitched (OH, DID I PITCH!), eventually raised funding, negotiated with buyers, brought products to market, and yes, pitched my brand, FunkkOFF!® onto the ultimate entrepreneurial stage: Shark Tank®. What I learned firsthand is that building a company can feel incredibly lonely. Not because the information wasn’t out there. Not because the women who’d already navigated the hard parts didn’t exist. They did. But they were scattered, disconnected, rarely in one place. There was no roadmap built for women taking a physical product from sketch to shelf, from funding to scale, from idea to successful exit. Doors weren’t open to rooms, chairs weren’t pulled up to table, especially for funding conversations.

What was missing?

The communities I found were either too broad to be useful or too closed to get into. General startup advice doesn’t teach you how to navigate a manufacturing agreement, price for real margins, land a retail buyer, secure access to capital, or scale a physical product.

It was not just my experience. Over the past decade, only 4% of US patents issued named only women inventors. And 1.1% of US venture capital went to companies founded solely by women, down from 2.1% the year before. Mixed teams do far better on both counts. Women building on their own do not. Those numbers are the reason I stopped treating it as my own bad luck.

I wanted more than information. I wanted truly trusted connections, real support, and access to women who had already solved the problems I was facing. I wanted the templates and contracts I eventually paid lawyers to redraft. I wanted a network I could actually trust. And I wanted a community small enough that a real person would give me a real answer.

That’s the kind of community I wish I had. It simply did not exist.

So I built it.

FIRE is that room, the one ecosystem, built on purpose and kept intentional. We cap the founding membership so it stays a room and not a stadium. We are careful about who joins and what we publish. Everything inside it is something I wish someone had handed me on day one, from the forms library to the network to the working sessions, to access to capital and to where founders actually help each other.

If you are building anything, you are in the right room. I am really glad you found FIRE. And, let’s have some fun along the way!

What this is

A trusted ecosystem and curated membership for Female Inventors and Entrepreneurs building real businesses.

1

The tools, done for you

Around a hundred templates, contracts, trackers, and guides covering incorporation, manufacturing, fundraising, and everything in between. The stack you would otherwise piece together over years.

2

A network that answers

A curated directory of women who have already shipped, raised, and scaled. Small enough that you can reach a real person and get a straight answer to the question in front of you.

3

Rooms to grow in

Pods, workshops, webinars, and a recurring pitch competition. Standing places to get accountability, learn from someone ahead of you, and put your product in front of the group.

How it’s built

Small on purpose.

01

Experience over theory

The women here have built and sold real products. What gets shared is what actually worked, from people who carried the risk themselves, not recycled advice.

02

A capped, curated room

Founding membership is limited to 200 women. The Inferno working group is a handful of seats. We keep the numbers small so the room stays useful and every member is actually known.

03

Run like a founder would

Practical, structured, and honest about what a membership does and does not do. We would rather be clear and useful than loud, and we are careful about what we put our name on.

Why the Dragonfly?

Dragonflies have ruled the skies for over 300 million years. They have outlasted mass extinctions, ice ages, and a planet that has remade itself again and again. They are still here, still flying, still fierce. That is not luck. It is resilience, and it is the same resilience that runs through every woman who invents, builds, and dares to launch something the world hasn’t seen yet.

But let’s be honest about the world she is launching into. Over the last decade, only 4% of patents named women as their only inventors. Only 1.1% of venture capital went to companies founded solely by women. Women are inventing, building, and leading, and the system has not been built to back them. We are not here to ask for a seat at that table. We are here to build a bigger one.

The dragonfly knows something about that kind of fight. It spends years beneath the surface, growing in the dark while no one is watching, and then it rises. Every woman inventor knows that season: the sketches, the prototypes, the late nights, the doubt, the work no one sees. Every woman entrepreneur knows it too: the pitch decks, the rejections, the “come back when you have more traction.” The dragonfly doesn’t wait for permission to emerge. Neither should you.

And when it flies, it is a force. Four wings, each moving independently, let it hover, pivot, and change direction in an instant. It doesn’t chase opportunity. It anticipates where opportunity is going and intercepts it, with a success rate of roughly 90%, among the highest of any hunter on earth. That is how female inventors and entrepreneurs operate: agile, strategic, and relentless.

The odds were never built for us. We are building anyway.
